The phrase Go Beyond Beyond is inspired by the Prajna Paramita mantra which closes the Buddhist Heart Sutra, or the Heart of the Great Wisdom Sutra. The mantra is stated: gate, gate, paragate, parasamgate, bodhi svaha. Broadly ‘Prajna’ means wisdom while ‘Paramita’ means a crossing over, or going beyond. Therefore a loose translation of the mantra is ‘gone, gone, gone beyond, gone utterly beyond, Enlightenment hail’.

The Heart Sutra is also about the realisation that all things are essentially empty in nature. But seeing emptiness in form is the opposite of nihilism, it is liberation. Essentially it points us to let go of our preconceived notions, opinions and attachments of how things ‘should’ be and be open the wonder of life ‘as it is’.

The words were first designed for us in calligraphy that captured the energy and sentiment of the phrase and then embroidered on the seam of the hood. There is also a small embroidered Earthmonk logo on the front left hand side of the chest.

We recommend washing this organic cotton hoodie inside out on a delicate or hand wash cycle. Try to avoid longer agitation and higher rotation spin cycles. Organic cotton should never see the inside of your tumble dryer, air drying is best!
